The Christian Association of Nigeria has urged Federal Government to improve its security architecture over the gruesome murder of Fr. Isaac Achi as they commiserated with Catholic Bishops Conference and the entire Catholic sect.
Until his death, Rev, Fr. Achi was the Parish Priest of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kafin-Koro in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The Christian body, however, prayed that God should comfort the entire believers and urged government to improve the nation’s security framework in order to put an end to such incidents.
The CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh said,”Fr. Achi, who was buried on Friday, has eraned his place as a committed servant of God and minister of the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ on account of the high standards of ethics and devotion with which he discharged his responsibilities as a religious leader.”
He stated further that his death come at a time the parishioners and other Christian should tap from his exemplary leadership and sense of direction.
“His death is a sad development at a time his parishioners and by extension other Christians in the country can benefit fron his leadersdhip and sense of direction. It is a big loss to the Church in Which he played major role as a priest , guardian and philanthropist to many needy members of our society, Because of these impeccable records, he lives in our hearts. He indelible footprints tell us that he will always be part of the journey of many believers in Nigeria and the world.
“As we condole with the entire Catholic Church at this moment of grief, CAN appels to the auhtorites to improve our internal and security frameworks to stop future occurrence of such incidents that led to the Fr. Achi sudden demise. May his soul rest in peace.”
