Enugu gov names Oyo monarch medical varsity chancellor
A first class king in Oyo State, Olugbon of Orile Igbon, HRM Oba Dr. Francis Olushola Alao has been appointed as Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, Igbo-Eno, of the state by the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Wednesday.
His appointment was announced in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, saying the appointments were pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 of the First Schedule to State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, Igbo-Eno Law, Laws of Enugu State, No. 1, 2022.
Governor Ugwuanyi, the Visitor of the university, also approved the appointment of Msgr. Prof. Obiora Francis Ike as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the SUMAS.
Prof. Ortuanya said the appointments were effective from Monday, May 22, 2023.
