Oyo pilgrims to deposit N2.6m for 2023 Hajj – Board

The Oyo State pilgrims intending to embark on the 2023 Hajj will be expected to make an initial payment of N2.6million, the state’s Muslim welfare board has announced.


According to the News Agency of Nigeria, this was disclosed by the board’s chairman, Prof. Sayed Hamzah A. Malik, on Saturday in the state capital, Ibadan.


Malik revealed that the aforementioned amount was fixed pending the time the actual amount for this year’s Hajj, will be fixed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.


Malik, who revealed that not less than 1441 have been allocated to Oyo State for the exercise, also discussed some key issues relating to the success of the exercise with them while imploring them to pay the initial payment to a designated bank account.


Hajj exercise is the journey to the holy land of Mecca and Medina where Muslims go to every year, to perform their Islamic duty, as instructed by the Almighty Allah.
