Lord’s Chosen Church warns congregation against online fund raising

The Pastor of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, popularly known as Chosen, Lazarus Muoka, has cautioned his congregation against paying online to any person saying if there is need for the church to raised fund it would be done at the headquarters.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Muoka made this admonition on Tuesday, while explaining how scammers use various online platforms to swindle people, during the church’s workers’ meeting held at its Ijesha Lagos headquarters.

According to NAN, the session was to consolidate the organisation’s operations.

The cleric called on the public to be mindful of those that would want to take advantage of his picture, name, logo or any item associated with the church to dupe them.

Mouka said that reports have been going viral that some persons were using his name and the church’s paraphernalia to wrongfully obtain money from people to perform miracles for them.

He clarified that he does not collect money to render services to people and the church is not party to such.

He, therefore, urged the public to reject anyone requesting them to make donations for church projects online or any other platform in whatever means that such a demand was not from the church or himself.

“If there is any need to raise funds for church works, it has to do here in the headquarters not online.

“Therefore, don’t pay heed to anyone asking you to make payment for chosen online scammers are lurking to see whom to swindle,” he said.
