Late Delta monarch Ohworode’s funeral rites holds Friday
The departed monarch of Ogoni-Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Dela State, Ohworode of Olomu, HRM, Dr Richard Layeguen Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro I, set to be given final passage rites ceremony on Friday.
According to Vanguard, dignitaries expected to grace the ceremony that commenced on Thursday include, Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Edo States, Godwin Obaseki, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, former President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor, Ayo Oritsejafor, among others.
As the tradition deems, the Uhurie Ruling House in Olomu Kingdom paid homage to the departed Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom with dances and presentation of gifts.
The Urhukpe cultural dance group from Oguname-Olomu community was on ground to make the occasion look colourful to the guests.
Olorogun Johnway Okoro who led the Uhurhie Ruling House paid tribute to the Ohworode and explained the importance of the homage by the Uhurhie people.
However, the Medical Director of Hellyncoms Eye Clinic, Dr. Comfort Omon-Irabor organised free eye test for the people of Olomu Kingdom in commemoration of the revered monarch, as part of the activities to celebrate the final passage of Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom.
Omon-Irabor also gave out free eye glasses as well as drugs to the people.
While speaking on the event, she said, “We’ve been here since morning attending to people, who have challenges such as pathological conditions while some also require surgery as a form of treatment for them to see better.”
She then called on the people of Olomu Kingdom to always visit the eye clinic or eye specialists whenever they have issues with their eyes.
