Abia Church of Nigeria tasks Abia gov-elect on job creation

The Diocese of Umuahia, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has called on Abia State governor-elect, Alex Otti, to ensure that his administration create employment opportunity for the youths and make appropriate plans to industrialize the state.

According to Leadership, the Rt. Revd Geoffrey Ibeabuchi made call on Friday, in his presidential address at the 3rd session of the 10th Synod of the diocese at St Silas Church, Old Umuahia, near the state capital, Umuahia.

The cleric hailed Otti on March 18 election victory urging him to be magnanimous in victory.

While requesting him to fulfil his campaign promises, the minister of God praised his steadfastness in the pursuit of the dream until it materialized.

Ibeabuchi aslo told the Governor-elect to be determined in carrying out his transformation agenda.

“As you get ready for swearing in on the 29th of May, 2023, we want you to know that expectations on you and your administration are beyond comprehension. Avoid sycophants,” he said.

The bishop of the diocese called on Otti to appoint tested and trusted individuals, ensure pensioners and civil servants are paid, and world class infrastructure development.

The cleric urged the Governor-elect to extend hands of fellowship to every part of the state and run an all-inclusive government and open up the state for investors, saying, “Create employment for the youths and plan towards the industrialization of the state.”
