Tinubu needs moral support, not fake prophecies – Ogun monarch
The Eselu of Iselu in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has called on Nigerians to pray for the success of the president-elect, Asiwaju BolaTinubu, who was declared winner in Saturday’s presidential electon saying there is no time for fake prohecies.
Eselu said what the president-elect needs now are ideas and skills to rebuild the Nigerian nation.
The monarch said Nigerians should forget fake prophecies and set the incoming president on track so that he would fix Nigeria challenges better than he met it as it would be taking it over from the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023.
While explaining the challenges Nigeria are facing, Oba Akinyemi urged Tinubu to do everything in his capacity to meet up with the wishes and aspirations of the masses adding, Nigeria is bleeding from hunger, poverty and insecurity.
Daily Post reports that the monarch emphasised that Nigerians deserve to enjoy the dividends of democracy, no matter their location, religion, ethnicity or political affiliations.
According to him, “I want to congratulate the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I also want to congratulate my governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
“This is a beginning of a new dawn in this country. All hands must be on deck. We must give Tinubu both moral and spiritual support. We must give him our prayers, give him ideas on how to run this country better than how he is going to take it over from Buhari.
“We should rally round him, we should set him on the track. We should put him on his toes so that he can give us the dividends of democracy and ensure his manifestoes become a reality.
“This no time for fake prophesies. We have undergone that, and we saw that they all failed. ‘My ways are not your ways, and your ways are not my ways’; that’s what God said in the bible.
“Today, the actualisation of Asiwaju Tinubu is a reward of goodwill, a reward of his political sagacity, a reward of consulting many political gladiators in the South and North. I give it to him, he is a dogged fighter, a man with a lion heart. Some of us who supported him are happy to have him as our president.”
Oba Akinyemi stated further that his expectation are but not limited to the fact that, ” We know he is going to transform our country, we know this is the Nigeria of our dreams. We want our children to come back home and enjoy this country better than where they are living presently.
“Nigeria is bleeding of hunger, poverty, insecurity and a lot of challenges. Let’s get to work, no more time for jamboree. Asiwaju is capable and we want him to hit the ground running.”
In his prayers to the president-elect, the traditional ruler said, “We pray for his success. We should leave partisan politics now and set the man on track so that we can tap on the resource of what he can give us right now. I pray for his success and Insha Allah, God will make him transform this country in Jesus name.”
