Osun traditionalists back Gov Adeleke after S’Court win
A group, under aegis of the Traditional Religious Worshippers Association in Osun State has thrown their weight behind the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, saying they would continue to work hard appeasing their ancestors for him to have a peaceful reign.
According to the PUNCH, the religious group expressed this in their congratulatory message to Adeleke on his victory at the Supreme Court, which affirmed his election at the July 16, 2022 governorship poll, signed by its president, Oluseyi Atanda, obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday.
The traditionalists said they would perform all the necessary rites to cleanse the land and make his reign peaceful just as they said he should equally extend hands of fellowship to them.
The group called on Adeleke to ensure a peaceful coexistence among people of diverse faiths living in the state and encourage their efforts in order to keep the state safe through their spiritual intercession.
The traditionalist urged the governor to do away with every bad policy of the previous administration and to continue with good policies of those before him for the state to rise further in the comity of states in the country.
The statement read, “We congratulate our governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory at the Supreme Court which affirmed his election. God has made him governor and we will continue to work hard appeasing our ancestors for him to have a peaceful reign as the leader of the state.
“We are a non-partisan religious group and we assure Governor Adeleke of our continued support. Whenever he feels a policy he inherited or initiated is not working, he should discontinue it, but the working policies of those before him in office, he should continue with them in the interest of the state.
“All the necessary rites to make the land to be more peaceful during the reign of our amiable governor will be done and we believe he will also extend hands of fellowship to us and avail us opportunity to relate with his administration. We assure him of our total support.”
