Indian Police has revealed that at least eight devotees have been reported dead after about 25 people fell into a well at a Hindu temple.
According to AFP, about 12 people have been reportedly rescued by the rescue team.
It was gathered that the floor covering the stepwell, a stair-lined community water source, collapsed in the central city of Indore, causing the worshippers to fall into it.
Police official Manish Kapooriya, said, “We have recovered eight bodies and rescued nearly a dozen”.
Rescue workers in the state of Madhya Pradesh were seen on television using ropes and ladders to rescue individuals stuck in the well.
