The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, Ignatius Kaigama has urged supreme court to discharge their duties without biasness as God is watching.
The cleric said this on Sunday at St. Augustine’s Parish, Lugbe, advising justices as he believed that those disappointed with the election results would head to court for redress.
He frowned at politicians who engage in vices including rigging and manipulation of election results with the view to gaining political power.
Taking his text from Genesis 12:1-4 and 2 Timothy 1:8-10 during the morning service, the clergy who spoke on the theme, “the call to spiritual transformation” charged the Christian faithfuls not to let their faith dwindle due to the manipulation of the February 25 elections but should be consoled by the fact that God is still the God of all Nigerians.
According to him, “let the courts do their work with the greatest sense of justice. God above is watching how the courts, the hope of the common man/woman will perform.
“The supreme judge of the ultimate tribunal is waiting for those who dispense justice with a sense of fairness or do so with great personal bias or get some compromised because of some material reasons. Let peace reign. May God protect Nigeria and all Nigerians.”
He added that politicians do not need to fight dirty by rigging or manipulating elections if the desire is to genuinely serve the common good, encouraging Nigerians to remain calm and still go out on Saturday to vote as “God is still the God of all Nigerians.”
