The People Democratic Party, Enugu North Senatorial zone Campaign Council has mourned the demise of Igwe Spencer Ugwuoke describing him a huge loss to the entire Wawa land.
The late traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Igwe Spencer Ugwuoke of Obimo Community, in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State ascended the throne at the age of 35 years,
He was regarded as the oldest reigning king in Enugu State.
Among the delegation to his palace in Obimo include;Bartr, Vincenty Egechukwu Obetta, the Director-General, PDP Enugu North Senatorial Zone Campaign Council, Festus Onogwu, .
Others were Coordinator, Nsukka Local Government Area, Hon. Ogbons Idike, Coordinator, Igbo-Etiti Local Governent Area, and hon. Emeka Assogwu, a former protocol officer, Enugu Government house Comrade Ugwu Adolphus , all members PDP campaign council, just mention few.
In his remark, the campaign DG, Obetta, said the entire Wawa land was in grief over the passage of the monarch.
“we are pained because our late revered monarch was known for his support fir the Wawa land; he was known for saying thing the way he sees it.
“He was great, courageous, an icon of Wawa land; we have lost an iroko. The shoes he lefty are too big.
“He became Igwe at the age of 35.; that’s a rare feat and it should serve as a source of consolation. We are here to let you know that it is a loss not just for your family, Obiom community, Enugu State but beyond,” he said.
He told the family that Enugu State Govbernor, Ifaanyi Ugwuanyi was also deeply pained by the loss and would in due course come to commiserate with the family.
Reacting, the wife of the late monarch, Lolo Joy Uwuoke and his son, Prince Chuwudi, respectively, said they were highly appreciative of the visit.
According to report, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Spencer Ugwuoke who had spent 35 years on throne before his demise was one of the oldest traditional rulers in the Souht-east. He reigned as the monarch of the highly-populated Obimo Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State for almost four decades.
