Jihadist kill 19 in Burkina Faso

No fewer than 19 persons, including volunteer workers, were killed in Jihadist attack in Burkina Faso.

According to AFP, this was disclosed by a security source in the country on Monday.

It was gathered that nine volunteers were killed, while seven members of the VDP volunteer force were killed in a mass attack on Thursday in the northwestern village of Dembo.

According to the local account, a “terrorist cell” murdered 12 people on Sunday in Yargatenga, a community close to Ghana’s and Togo’s eastern borders.

“The attack in Dembo was carried out by “around 100 armed men who surged into the village in pickups and on motorcycles, opening fire before taking on the VDP.

“We lost seven members in the fighting, which lasted more than three hours. Several attackers were also killed but their bodies were taken away” by the assailants, he said.
